Professional-Technical Department

​​​​​The Professional-Technical Department consists of the following academic chairs related to the main combat functions
  • Technical Subjects;
  • Theory and Technique of Military Traffic;
  • Administrative Law and Military Accounting/ Legal Affairs.
The Department offers all basic training courses for officers.

Each Academic Chair covers several courses, as follows:
  • Academic Chair of Technical Subjects: Ballistics and Firing; Weapon Systems; Topography; Signals; CBRN; Explosives/Mine/Mine Fields/C-IEDs/Force Protection; Fleet, Equipment and Weapon Systems Management (*);
  • Academic Chair of Theory and Technique of Military Road Traffic: Organisation of Military Movement and Transport; Fleet, Equipment and Weapon Systems Management (*); Theory and Technique of Military Circulation; Automotive Materials.- Academic Chair of Administrative Law and Military Accounting/Legal Subjects: Military Administration and Accounting, Recruitment/Military Status and Career Progression, Administration and Accounting of State Property, Budget and Finance, Payroll, Administrative Management of Military Units, Personal Records Management, Administrative-Accounting Management of Operations Abroad, Contracts.

    (*) Subjects taught in synergy with the “Università degli Studi di Torino”.
The Department also contributes to the design and organisation of exercises for staff courses, including cartography.

Head of Professional-Technical Department
The most senior Teacher of the Department reports directly to the Head of Faculty and is also the Head of the Department responsible for
  • Translating the macro learning objectives developed by the Head of Department into specific objectives to be assigned to each teacher;
  • Coordinating, designing and scheduling the syllabi of the disciplines under the department’s responsibility within the framework of interdisciplinary modules;
  • harmonising the curricula of the interdisciplinary modules with the other departments;
  • Drawing up, within the scope of his/her functions, the lessons learnt from the development of interdisciplinary modules; ensuring that the objectives set for specialised teaching are consistent with the requirements of the Departments/Operational Commands;
  • Carrying out a multidisciplinary assessment of the student’s aptitudes, skills and learning performance in the context of the subjects covered in the courses managed by the department and prepare an individual technical report;
  • Carrying out teaching activities.
