Learning Equipment and Foreign Languages Section

​​​​​The Learning Equipment and Foreign Languages Section reports directly to the Head of Faculty. It interacts proactively with the Training Department in the planning of language courses. Language training must be practical and continuous. To this end, based on the Framework Agreement no.
257 signed on 15 February 2019, language classes are taught by native speakers provided by the “Centri Linguistici Consorziati” consortium. Upon validation from the Italian Army Foreign Languages School in Perugia, those professionals can be included in the pool of teachers qualified to teach a foreign language according to the training requirements of the Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies.

The Section organises language courses for the attending officers and Staff as part of the teaching activities it coordinates.

Courses include:
  • Basic Military English (BME);
  • French Linguistics with academic syllabus;
  • Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC);
  • French Linguistics with academic syllabus;
  • English Linguistics (full immersion course);
  • Crash Course for staff officers;
  • Language courses for the staff of the Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies earmarked to serve abroad and for residential staff.
Additionally, the Learning Equipment and Foreign Languages Section administers the Joint Forces Language Test (JFLT) at the end of the language courses that require it in close coordination with and in support to the Army Foreign Languages School. The Section is equally responsible for regular management of classrooms and learning equipment used by teachers according to the syllabi and the teaching activities.

Sub-units at Squadron and Platoon levels can train in collective mode at the Virtual Training Centre of the Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies. Through the Centre, they can exercise techniques, tactics and procedures set in modern scenarios of employment. The Centre increases the ability of commanders at all levels to analyse, plan, and make decisions as they exercise their command prerogatives.

The Head of the Learning Equipment and Foreign Languages Section is also the Head of the Virtual Training Centre​.​
