With sacrifice and valorous actions, it opposed the enemy for many days on Mount Cengio – Cesura trying to stop it in the vicentina plain (22^nd May – 3^rd June 1916). It conquered enemy positions, defending them tenaciously even if its forces were reduced. Retreated from the first line, it returned there to repel a dangerous enemy counterattack and, with sublime abnegation, it managed to reconquer the positions. In the campaign it contributed to give glory to the traditions of the Grenadiers of Sardinia. (Carso, Fornaia Region, Quota 241. 23^rd May – 7^th June 1917).

In the defence of Rome it reacted to the German violent attack in its widest area chosen by the invader to enter. For two days it fought tenaciously and in three violent battles it opposed to the enemy superiority the will of its soldiers that paid tribute, deserving the secular traditions of glory of the Grenadiers. (Rome, 8^th – 10^th September 1943).

It distinguished for its hard work, courage and abnegation in rescuing the populations hit by the earthquake on 28^th December 1908.
