The "Grenadiers of Sardinia" Mechanized Brigade is one of the Great Units for the "presence and surveillance" of Rome.
Formed in 1831 with the "Grenadiers" and "Hunters" regiments, it participated in the three wars of Independence, in the repression of brigandage and in the First and Second World War in which it manned the roman Capital where it fought during the difficult days of the armistice.
Led by a Brigadier General, it has got volunteer personnel.
The Brigade is composed of a Command Unit, a Grenadiers regiment, a Cavalry regiment and an Artillery regiment.
