On the Generals' decoration there is an eagle with spread wings a red shield on the chest with the letters RI (Italian Republic); the eagle is lied on two oak and laurel branches. On the rigid cap the eagle is on a red background. The decoration is silver for Brigadier Generals and Major Generals, while it is gold for Lieutenant Generals and Generals, independently from the headgear.

The decoration of the Army Air Force is constituted by an eagle lied on a flaming torch. There are also the insignias of two different units of the Italian Army: the 28^th "Pavia" Regiment, with the horse of the chess, the sword and the thunderbolt of communication; the Multinational CIMIC Group with the shied and the decoration including all the Armies.

Among the recent decorations there is that one of the units depending on the RISTA-EW Brigade of the Signals and Information Command of the Army located in Anzio: their insignias is constituted by a sword and four electric thunderbolt
