The Alpines, constituted in 1872 as Infantry Specialty, have received the decoration in 1912.
Their decoration is formed by an eagle with spread wings on a cornet lied on two criss-crossed rifles. The Eagle and the cornet are also present in the decorations of all the Alpine Troops Armies, while for the Corps the eagle substitutes the towered crown.
It is in metal or in golden filaments and it must be fixed on the alpine hat, the "Norwegian" beret of the rigid beret.
