Silver Medal to the Military Valour
Decree of 31st January 1947
The Regiment, with high spirit and deployed in Albania, after the armistice moved with all its six batteries towards the mountain where, along with the other troops of the Division, it fought the first violent battles against the Germans destroying armoured vehicles and giving an efficient contribute to the defence. Later, for about a year and a half some components of the 41st, the only artillery to fight with the partisans troops, were taken through the mountains of Albania and southern Montenegro, a precious help in several actions of partisan war against the Germans. Two batteries, the unique units in all the 9th Army, remained in their organic constitution until they came back to the homeland in May 1945, escorting the Flag of the Regiment towards the Altare della Patria, after having been saved by an Officer through sacrifice and dangers as symbol of the honour of the Italian Army. (Mountains of Albania, September 1943 – January 1945).
