NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy (NRDC-ITA) is a multinational Headquarters based in Solbiate Olona, in the Varese area, north of Milan. Italy is the framework nation providing approximately 80% of the personnel, whilst the remaining 20% is made up of Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Soldiers from other Alliance nations.
The 400 military people come from Albania, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Great Britain, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, The Netherlands, Türkiye and United Stated.,
The multinational environment is the key factor enabling NRDC – ITA to operate successfully.
The Command can intervene in crisis areas, according to the North Atlantic Council (NAC).
Since 1st October 2016 NRDC-ITA directly depends on the Chief of General Staff of the Army.
