​The "Folgore" Brigade began to have success and sympathies during the involvement of its units in Lebanon, in the first operational mission abroad of the Armed Force.

After that it had ten years of peace on the international scene, interrupted in the first nineties.

A Paratroopers Tactical Group (two Companies of the 5^th "El-Alamein" Battalion, a Company of the 9^th "Col Moschin" Battalion a Paratroopers Carabinieri nucleus) and most of the "Folgore" Logistic Battalion were part of the "ITALFOR AIRONE" Contingent that, from May to November 1991, carried out humanitarian missions in Kurdistan.

Since 25^th July 1992 the Brigade has provided a contingent to participate in the "Sicilian Vespers", aiming to patrol the territory and oversee sensitive targets.

From 28^th December 1992 to 3^rd September 1993 the "Folgore" participated in the "RESTORE HOPE" (Italfor Ibis) in Somalia.

Since then the Brigade has been deployed several times in the Balkans, in particular in IFOR/SFOR in Bosnia, KFOR in Kosovo, FMP peace force in Albania and INTERFET Mission in East Timor.

Its involvements abroad have continued with operations in Afghanistan, "Nibbio" in Iraq, Sudan and Lebanon.
