The Tactical Information Brigade comes from the RISTA-EW Brigade, established in 2004 and which in turn has its origins in the pre-existing Electronic Defense Center (CDE), constituted in 1963 in Anzio.
It aims to meet the specialized needs concerning the "military information" at a tactical level, as well as operational needs.
In operations, the Brigade creates specific RISTA-IEW "Task Forces" in order to support the maneuvering elementary Large Units.
The Brigade, headed by a Brigadier General, is composed of personnel from Volunteer troops, in fixed military draft or in permanent service.
At its disposal there are an electronic war Regiment, a Regiment for the battlefield surveillance and target acquisition and a Battalion for humint activities.
From 05 November 2018 it assumes its current name and is placed under the Operational Land Forces Support Command.
It is deployed in the Regions of Lazio and Veneto.
