Silver Medal to the Military Valour
Decree of 24^th July 1947

The unique Engineer Battalion with the honour of representing its Army in Montelungo, Bologna, from the first to the last day of the war of liberation. With courage and tenacity in carrying out its duties, it sent its patrols in minefields offering its victims until the passage was opened; it also restored streets and bridges that were interrupted. In seventeenth months of battle it showed a generous abnegation contributing to the success of our armies. (Campaign of liberation, 6^th December 1943 – 30^th April 1945. To the "Legnano" Engineer mixed Battalion).

On the occasion of the earthquake that hit Friuli on 6^th May, it promptly intervened realizing new radio-telephone lines with the isolated areas. It contributed with men and vehicles to the rescue operations in favour of the populations hit, showing extraordinary altruism and abnegation. (Friuli, 6^th May 1976 – 30^th April 1977).
