It derives from the 132nd Engineer mixed Company constituted in February 1939 from the 4th Engineer Regiment of Verona for the 132nd "Ariete" armoured Division.
On 11th August 1941 the Company, along with the 232nd connections, was included in the 232nd Engineer mixed Battalion of the "Ariete" with whom it participated in the operational cycle in Africa, until its dissolution in December 1942. The Battalion continued in the 234th Engineer mixed Battalion of the "Ariete" Armoured Cavalry Division, dissolved in 1943.
In 1949 the "Ariete" was reconstituted and on 1st October 1958 it became "Ariete" Signals Battalion after having included a platoon and signals units. Reorganized in three independent companies between 1965 and 1968, the unit was renamed 232nd "Fadalto" signals Battalion, assigned to the "Ariete" armoured Division Command; it also contributed to form the Command and Signals Units of the "Manin", "Mameli" and "Garibaldi" Brigades.
Employed for the emergency of the earthquake in Friuli in 1976, it deserved the Bronze Medal to the Army Valour.
Passed at the dependencies of the Signals Command of the 5th Army Corps, it was dissolved on 30th April 1991.
When the operational needs of the Army changed, it was reconstituted in Avellino in 2004 for the Signals maneuvre support Brigade.
