The Support Brigade to the NRDC-ITA (HQ) was constituted on 1st October 2001 with the name of Signal Brigade; it function was supporting the Rapid Reaction Corps (NRDC-ITA) that was part of NATO.
On 1st October 2007 it assumed the current name.
On July 25, 2008, with the abolition of the Italian Headquarters (QGI) at NRDC-ITA, the Support Brigade absorbed its functions, effectively operating as the National Support Element (NSE) for the Italian personnel of NRDC-ITA.
As of Oct. 12, 2020, as part of the reorganization of the administrative management of the Social Protection Bodies of the Armed Force, the Support Brigade to the (HQ) NRDC-ITA took over the Unified Circle of Milan to its dependencies. As of July 01, 2022, the Circle returned to the dependencies of CME Lombardy.
