
The "Taurinense" Alpine Brigade iso ne of the Great Units of the Armed Force specialized for the fighting on mountain.
Constituted as 1st Alpine Group in 1923, it was given the current name in 1934. Employed in the Second World War on the western front, so in Montenegro, after the armistice it has contributed to the formation of the "Garibaldi" Partisans Italian Division.
Reconstituted in 1952, it was the first mountain units to be composed by Volunteers.
Employed abroad several times, the Brigade is located in Piedmont and it is composed of three base regiments, an artillery regiment, a cavalry regiment, an engineer regiment, a logistic regiment and a Command Unit.
