At the end of the First World War, on 1^st July 1918 the 7^th Engineer Regiment (telegraphists) was constituted and its deposit provided for the formation of several telegraphists companies.

Until November 1919 its units contributed to form Army Corps telegraphists battalions.

On 1^st May 1948 a Connections Battalion was constituted in Padova for the needs of the 5^th Territorial Military Command; in 1950 it was renamed 5^th Connections Battalion and in 1956 5^th Signals Battalion, later defined of Army Corps.

After the reorganization of the Armed Force, in October 1975 it became 5^th "Rolle" Signals Battalion with the traditions of the 7^th regiment.

It received the War Flag on 12^th November 1976.

On 4^th October 1991 the Battalion formed the "Rolle" Signals Regiment whose establishment was fixed on 1^st December 1992 as 7^th Signals Regiment.

On 8^th January 2002 it took the current structure, on the two "Rolle" and "Predil" Battalions.
