Ski training

​The fourth-year Cadets wait for the ski training at the end of the first term.

The ski holiday is organized every year at the ski area of La Thuile or that of San Candido. The qualified instructor are servicepersons from the Alpine Training Centre of Aosta or from the Alpine Company of San Candido.

The ski instructors’ excellent preparation permit to the students to briefly reach good results and it encourage to repeat the experience.

The ski activity, carried out during the morning, is flanked by theoretical-practical lessons related to the mountain context.

In particular there are lessons about:

  • behavior and movement in mountain, security fundamental principles;
  • objective and individual dangers of the environment;
  • the skier code;
  • materials for the alpine ski, main characteristics, correct use and maintenance;
  • emergency shelters: theory and practice on fox’s nest and snow cavern;
  • mountain rescue: concepts and modalities of self-assistance and organized rescue.​
