The head office

The School is situated on the hill of Pizzofalcone in Naples, in the historical palace that hosted it since its foundation. Between 1587 and 1751 it was the head office of the novitiate of the Jesus Company, hosting after its suppression the Royal boarding school of Nunziatella (1773-1778) and since 1778 the Royal Ferdinando College.

The Institute has got a central position in the city, where there was the original nucleus, with the ancient Partenope, not too far from the Royal Palace.

The Nunziatella School is in San Ferdinando district – with the Spanish districts to the north and the historical popular area of Pallonetto di Santa Lucia to the South – in a bourgeois social context where, along Monte di Dio street, there are seventeenth-century buildings. In that area there are also professional and artisan enterprise as well as centres for the cultural and social city life.
