The VFP1 (Volunteers in fixed conscription of 1 year) Selection Centres were formed in 2004 substituting the Selectors Groups that depended on the Military Districts and verified the physical suitability of the young competitors. All the verifications are carried out in two days at the Centres that, located in Rome and Palermo, depend on the National Selection and Recruitment Centre of the Army in Foligno (PG).
The medical examinations follow a timetable divided between days dedicated exclusively to male candidates and other days to female candidates.
At the end of every day the results of the exams are communicated by the Committee to the aspirants with their suitability or non-suitability.
The Centres have got accommodation capacity of room and board but its availability has to be verified.
