The National Selection and Recruitment Centre of the Army was constituted on 1st October 1996 in Foligno (PG), in the "General Ferrante Gonzaga del Vodice" Barracks that was the location of the dissolved 92nd "Basilicata" Regiment.
The selection tests (writing, speaking, psycho-physical and aptitude test) take place at the Centre for almost all competitions to join the Army.
In fact, people who decide to join the Army through one of the many competitions or those who want to move from one category to another, take the first step at the Centre.
It was constituted in order to streamline and centralized the carrying out of competitions for the Army, concentrating them in one single Body and in only one location.
