CREST: it is red with a golden lorica (a body armour typical of the ancient Romans) crossed by a wooden beam that holds up an helmet silver feathered; the lorica is intersected by two bronze crossed cannons. The lorica and the cannons are intersected by two silver crossed rifles, two silver bayonets; outwards from the rifles there are two black crossed lances with a blue flag on their tops, with silver tips; there are also two silver hatchets with downward blades and black handles; under the hatchets two silver arrows emerge, lowered by the cannons.
On the top of the crest there is a golden crown of the Military Authorities with a red internal part that holds up five visible quadrangular towers joined by four wall curtains; the towers are crenelated by four merlons on each side and closed by black windows.
Under the crest, on a golden flutter band, the motto is written in black capital letters:
SALVS REI PVBLICAE SVPREMA LEX ESTO that means "the safety of the State has to be the supreme law". In the middle of the band there is a black burning grenade.
