Since the nineteenth century the representative headgear of the Armed Force is the beret, the most used headgear of the Army. There are also special headgears worn by the Corps and the Specialties for historical or traditional reasons: the Alpine Hat, the Fez and the Hat of the Bersaglieri, the Chepì of the Horse Artillery. Each model or colour has got historical reasons that are laws for the people who wear it.
Worn in the Service Uniform, it was substituted by the classic cap in fabric in the Regular Uniform, except for the Alpine Troops, the Paratroopers, the Army Aviation, the Cavalry and the Lagoons that maintain their specific headgear. There is a version for women of the cap with the visor. The caphas got a strip that garnish the cylindrical part of the headgear, with flowers for the Officers and stripes for the other categories.
