On 1^st June 1963 the 1^st "Ariete" Battalion was constituted for the 1^st Armoured Brigade of the "Ariete" Division.

When the Brigade was dissolved in 1968, the unit passed at the dependencies of the "Ariete" Services Group until 31^st October 1975. With the reorganization of the Army, on 1^st November 1975 it became independent and the battalion was included in the 8^th "Garibaldi" Mechanized Brigade with the name of "Garibaldi" Logistic Battalion.

By decree, on 12^th November 1976 it received the Combat Flag. On 1^st December 1981 the unit was reorganized, according the eighties logistic guidelines, in a Command, a Command and Services Company, a Refueling Company, a Maintenance Company and a Medium Transports Company. On 30^th April 1989 some of the personnel was moved to Persano (SA) to form the "Persano" Logistic Battalion.

On 1^st July 1991 the Battalion was reconstituted in Persano for the 8^th "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri Brigade in order to ensure it a logistic-technical support. For the needs of the great unit where it was include, a medical unit was included in the Battalion.

On 15^th June 2001 it was renamed 10^th Maneuver Regiment, with a regiment Command, a Refueling Battalion, a Maintenance Battalion and a Medical Unit.
