In 1997 the President of the Republic gave the Flag of the Military Institute to the School.

Golden Cross to the Army Merit

Later the Ministry of Defence has given the Golden Cross to the Army Merit to the Military Institute. On 24^th April, after 132 years from its foundation, the War School receive the recognition during a ceremony where there were present the Undersecretary of Defence, the Chief of General Staff of the Army, the Commanders of the Army Schools and the higher civic Authorities.
