A close-knit war unit that distinguished for ability and valour in long months of battle against a hardened violent determined enemy, showing courage and high spirit of cooperation and reaching its goals. With the groups assigned to the infantry and alpine Great Units, during a dangerous retreat it went beyond the difficulties without giving up the battle and supporting the alpines and the infantrymen against the continuous march of armoured enemy forces. Proud of guarding the traditions of the ancient “voloire” and giving example of heroism and altruism it totally sacrificed. After a long period of operational activity to the front of Tobruk, where the capability and the high spirit of its artillerymen were decisive in the defence and the new conquests, it supported the battle of the Marmarica with admirable valour. Going beyond difficulties in forty days of hard fighting against enemy forces larger in numbers and vehicles, the officers and the artillerymen showed heroism with the infantrymen facing the dangers. Our counteroffensive gave the 3rd Rapid Artillery Regiment the honour. The Regiment contributed to maintain the noble traditions of the Italian Artillery (Tobruk, El Aden; Ain el-Gazala, Agedabia, May-December 1941). (To the 3rd Rapid Artillery Regiment).

With the groups employed to support units of the Rapid Division or assigned to the infantry in action, it confirmed the ancient prestige through its impetuosity. After having entered the enemy territory, where also partisans were present, it operated to protect important defensive sectors. In a phase of the battle, it contributed to the success of the artillerymen with sacrifice and heroism. With the infantrymen, the Bersaglieri and the cavalrymen, it showed its characteristics and spirit in different situations and positions of the battle. During a hard battle, for the inviolability of the defensive sector, it limited the impetuosity of the enemy to which it took the cannons.
