​​​​MG SCUDERI was born in 1971 in Ischia, where he lived until the age of 16. He then joined the Military College in Naples, where he completed his humanistic studies. In 1990 he entered the Military Academy in Modena, and in 1992 he was commissioned in the Infantry. Two years later, he completed Infantry Officer training and in August 1995 was assigned to the Parachute Brigade, based in Tuscany, as a Lieutenant.

From 1995 to 2005, he served at regimental level as Anti-tank Platoon Commander, as Combat Support Coy Deputy Commander and then Commander, as Rifle Company Commander and Chief of the Operation Training and Information branch in the period 1995-2003. He then commanded the 5th Parachute Battalion in the period 2012-13 and the 187th Parachute Regiment in the period 2017-18.

In September 2022, he took over command of the Support Brigade to NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy in Solbiate Olona.

Col SCUDERI attended the Army Staff College in Italy in 2003-04, the Hungarian Staff College in 2004-05 and the Advanced Command and Staff Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in the UK in 2009-10.

His Staff tours include two years as Staff Officer / AdC in the office of the Commander Joint Operations HQ IT in 2006-07, two years as AdC to CGS IT Army in 2008-09, two years in the Planning Branch of 3 (UK) Division as an Exchange Officer in 2011-12, and four years as Chief Section in the Office of the CGS IT Army in 2013-17. During his time in NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy HQ, he served as ACOS J3 (2020-2021) and as DCOS Support (2021-2022). His overseas operational tours include Company Commander (Operation Joint Forge, Bosnia Herzegovina 1999), Chief S1 Cell (Operation Joint Guardian, Albania 2000) and Chief S3 Cell (Operation Joint Guardian, Kosovo 2001-02). He served again in Kosovo in 2019 as Chief Cabinet to COMKFOR.

Col SCUDERI holds a Master in Strategic Sciences and a Master in Defence Studies. He enjoys running and hiking.

Since August 21, 2025, Major General Giuseppe Scuderi has been the new Commander of the Multinational Division South. 

He is married to Nicoletta and they have two sons, Mario and Michele.​​
