​​​​​​The Italian Army works hard on the national territory, responding to the institutional tasks for “the safeguard of the free institutions and of the national community in case of public calamities”; it monitors the territory with the civil authorities in the “Safe Streets​” Operation. Moreover, the Army can guarantee interventions with​ different times and levels of specialization according to the situation; it helps the populations in case of public calamities (natural disasters, industrial chemical pollution, air accident, etc…) and for public utility needs.
