Built in 1856, the Historic Office of the General Staff of the Army is controlled by the 5th Unit-General Affairs. It is divided into three sections that deal with the Editorial Production and the Relations with Other Bodies, the Historic Archive, the Combatant Benefits and the Editorial Distribution as well as the Central Military Library and the Library of Artillery and Engineer Corps.
The Office is situated in three different places in Rome: 23, Via Etruria; Via Lepanto; 123/A, Via XX Settembre.
