The Artillery, in its land and anti-aircrafts specialties, has got a patch with black one-tip flame edging in yellow. Since 1st January 2000 the anti-aircraft specialty has a new patch constituted by the artillery flame on a light blue background with the insignia of the anti-aircrafts that is two golden criss-crossed rifles under a white missile.
The Artillery regiments have not got a patch with their own colours; in the past the artillery flame was on a background in the colour of the Infantry regiment included in the Great Unit.
After the war this tradition was abandoned and then restored for the Grenadiers Brigade as well as the "Sassari" since 2004; the majority of the Artillery units have worn the flame without colours, except for the units assigned to particular specialties such as the Artillery for the Alpine Troop, the self-propelled Artillery, the Artillery for the Air-Troops.
