This cavalry regiment with ancient traditions is organized in a regiment command, a logistic support squadron and an armoured squadrons group.

With volunteer personnel, the Regiment is located in Palermo. The War Flag is decorated with a Golden Medal, a Silver Medal and three Bronze Medals to the Military Valour, a Bronze Medal to the Army Valour and a War Cross to the Military Valour.

The celebration of the regiment is on 24^th June, anniversary of battles of Monte Vento and Custoza (1866) where it gained the Golden Medal to the Military Valour.
