​​Founded in Milan in 1802 with Napoleon Bonaparte, in its two centuries of history the “Teulié” Military School has pursued the ambitious pedagogical project of giving its cadets an overall formation in which the cultural, physical and behavioral preparation is based on moral values. Valorous commanders, cultured men, political men, industry captains, professionals and diplomatic people have been educated there, with a common life vision based on duty and honour.

Among the cadets we can mention Engineer Enrico FORLANINI (the Linate Airport is dedicated to him), General Raffaele CADORNA, Emanuele of SAVOY and the Senator and Minister Enrico CAVIGLIA; among the teachers we can mention Silvio PELLICO and Ugo FOSCOLO.

Closed after the war, the “Teulié” restarted its courses in 1996, aiming to educate the future ruling class. In that sense, today it is like a state “college” of élite with three-year courses of high school specialized in classics and scientific subjects. In addition to the scholar activities there are afternoon courses of English, French and Spanish, IT courses, courses of First Aid and Topography. There is also an internal course with final exam to gain the driving licence at 17 years old.

The didactic preparation is completed by the participation in conferences and workshops, concerts and theatre performances and enriched by several journeys in accordance with the scholastic programs. The sport disciplines include swimming, fencing, equitation, athletics, judo, karate, volleyball, basketball, sport shooting, rowing and ski.

The military discipline is the prerequisite for the cadet’s life in the Institute.

After concluded the two-year course in high schools specialized in classics and scientific subjects, teenagers can enter the School from all Italy, after a public selection. When gained the Diploma at the “Teulié”, a great number of cadets decide to continue the studies in Milan attending courses at “Bocconi” University, Polytechnic University of Milan, “Catholic” University and “San Raffaele Life-Health” University. Other students decide to continue their military career entering the Academies. Today the School stands out among the qualified high schools of Milan as an Institute that gives its students an excellent cultural preparation but especially firm civil and moral valours. The Military School pursues its purposes through:​​

• the development of the final three-year course programs of high schools specialized in classics and scientific subjects;
• the military education, aiming to give the Cadets a methodology for the problem solving;
• the cultural activity, aiming to increase the knowledge;
• the gymnastic-sport activity as an instrument for the physical reinforcement and the behavioral education but also the increase of the faith in the individual potentialities;
• the educational action, aiming to give the Cadets freedom of thinking, clarity of expression, ability to sum, sense of responsibility and loyalty.
  

Tasks

• “facilitate the moral, cultural and physical educational process of the Cadets so that they can face with success the military and civil life, though a behavioral code” (source: rules of the military schools of the Army, 1998 edition);
• “curate the cultural, moral, spiritual and physical education of the attenders by developing the scholastic program, training the body and educating the character through sport activities and an efficient educational action” (source: TT.OO 23/09/99);
• “…spread the military culture in the Country through an excellent educational offer based on European standards, encouraging the teaching the 2nd foreing language…” (source: Defence General Staff guidelines – 2008 edition).​
