The Brigade and its dependent units were employed in rescue operations after the earthquake in Friuli (1976) and Campania (1980). For its intervention in Friuli the Brigade was awarded with a Silver Medal to the Civil Valour and it received the honorary citizenship by the Municipality of Osoppo.
It has been the first Great Unit of the Army to be completely professionalized; with its regiments, it has operated on the national territory but also overseas.
