Determined and strong war unit, it operated in the hard campaign of Russia with the enthusiasm and faith that formed its glory in the previous wars of Italy. Passed from the defensive line to the courageous offensive, it occupied the fortified centre of Twnowka through a bloody battle, opening a way for the conquest of the rich mineral basin of Krasnij Lutsch. With a rapid and legendary march, it went from Donez to Don, giving its decisive contribution to the battle for the conquest of an enemy bridgehead, defeating the enemy that was in a difficult and dangerous sector. Called to another sector, where threatening Russian troops managed to pass to the right side of Don, with heroic counterattacks and tenacious resistance it stopped the enemy definitively. Decree of 26th May 1956
Magnificent Bersaglieri Regiment during the campaign in Russia, it carried out prodigious actions in the difficult maneuvre of retreatment by the A.R.MI.R. troops, marking the steps of an epic battle from Don to Dnieper. In noble competition of heroism and sacrifice with the other troops: courageous advance guard in violent counteroffensives, determined rear guard, in violent battles it faced the advance of strong armoured enemy columns. With a desperate will of resistance, in spite it was defeated by the enemy forces and after having lost about 70% of its soldiers, it concluded on the Dnieper the tragic operational cycle, admired by the allies with whom it fought, maintaining the name of the Italian soldiers high and always faithful to the noble traditions of the Corps. Silver Medal to the Army Valour
Decree of 17th March 1995
Included in the forces of the Italian Contingent employed in Somalia for rescuing and protection operations in favour of the population, in spite of the environmental difficulties, it operated with dedication and high professionalism in the difficult and dangerous mission. In difficult security conditions, its soldiers always confirmed high operational activities, sense of duty and courage in patrolling the territory, in the sweep of weapons, in escort operations of humanitarian convoys as well as during the abandonment of the positions of Belet, Wein and Bulo Burti. Many times involved in fire conflicts, its units always reacted with efficiency, showing the capability of measuring the reactions in any situation. It was motivated by the pride, the self-esteem and the certainty to give humanitarian help to a desperate population and the need of reorganizing a Country tormented by a civil war. Clear example of soldier who gave prestige to the Italian Army, raising admiration for the International Armed Forces employed in Somalia. Somalia, 30th November 1993 – 24th February 1994.

Under violent enemy fire it crossed the Isonzo river, bursting into the enemy trenches; in four days of violent battle it contributed to reach the victory with enthusiasm and valour. In spite of many losses, it maintained tenaciously the conquered positions, resisting to the violent and continuous enemy counterattacks.
