The history of its overseas operations started in 1991 when the units of the Brigade were integrated in the "ITALFOR – AIRONE" contingent that operated in northern Iraq for rescue humanitarian operations in favour of the Kurdish population.
From 14th July to 24th August 1992 the Brigade participated in Sardinia, in the area of Nuoro (Barbagia), in the "Forza Paris" Operation.
From February 1993 to November 1994 Units of the "Taurinense", integrated in the "Albatros" contingent, intervened in Mozambico for the UN mission called "ONUMOZ". Thanks to the behaviour of the personnel belonging to the Health Unit, it was given a mention in dispatches by the Chief of General Staff of the Army.
The Brigade intervened in Sicily, from 10th March to 20th June 1994, in the "Sicilian Vespers" Operation to patrol the territory and in November in the areas of Piedmont damaged by a violent flood.
The Brigade and its regiments have been also employed in Bosnia in the SFOR Operation, in Kosovo in the KFOR Operation and in Afghanistan in the ISAF Operation.
Moreover, the Brigade has also been employed in civil protection activities: in particular in Piedmont in 1994 where it intervened to rescue the populations damaged by the disastrous flood. In September 1997 its 9th Alpine Regiment participated in rescue operations after the earthquake in the regions of Umbria and Marche.
