The "Albergian" Battalion, completely isolated in a difficult situation, continued for two days to defend important positions. Many times it blocked the enemy, superior in forces and means, until it tried to open a gap to reach the new defence line. (M.Pleka, 24th and 25th October 1917).

In the difficult situation after the armistice, it faced the enemy and with other units it attacked an enemy garrison forcing it to surrender after a violent battle. It accepted to take part into the Italian Corps of Liberation for chasing the enemy from the Abruzzi to the Gothic line. It distinguished for audacity and courage in crushing the enemy resistances and repelling the counteroffensives. (Quenza, Corse – 15th September. Abruzzi-Marche – June, July, August, September 1944.) Decree of 20th March 1950
In charge of controlling an important sector of Mount Golico – the keystone for the defence of Tepeleni dip – for a long period of violent crushes, it ensured the possession of the area with tenacity and admirable heroism. During the victorious advance, with courageous actions and skilfull maneuvres, it contributed efficiently to the final victory, opening a way for the columns of the "Julia" Division. (Greek front, 25th February – 25th April 1941. To the "Susa" Battalion).

Alpine Regiment with volunteers that intervened in Bosnia with extraordinary enthusiasm. During the five months in that troubled area, it operated with composure and determination imposing justige and mutual respect to the enemy groups. It had to substitute the protection disposition on the occasion of the Pope's visit in Sarajevo; it could face the difficult situation with moments of tension showing its professionalism, reliability and expertise to the world public opinion, arousing esteem and respect of the military and civil authorities of the city. Generous with weak and needy people, determined to abolish injustice and pains, the men of the 3rd Alpine Regiment imposed for its helpfulness and humanity, maintaining equidistance between the different ethnic and religious groups, recognized by everyone. Thanks to their continuous and extraordinary hard work, the Alpines of the 3rd Regiment contributed to restore the conditions for a pacific coexistence on a territory devastated by the war. Extremely motivated, the Alpine Regiment gave its contribution in the area of Sarajevo-Pale strengthening the prestige of the Italian Armed Forces on the international context. After a courageous night march on high mountain with difficult weather conditions, it managed to conquer an important position maintaining its possession in spite of a violent and tenacious fire response by the enemy. After four days in a difficult situation with many losses, it continued the advance asking the wounded a decisive effort. (Colle del Pelouse – Mont Rond – Grange Melzet – western front, 21st – 24th June 1940. To the "Val Dora" Alpine Battalion).

The "Susa" Alpine Battalion, as a component of the "Albatros" Contingent employed in the UN Peacekeeping mission in Mozambique, had the task of controlling the Corridoio di Beira and the areas around it that had social, economic and strategic importance, carrying out all the activities concerning the security of the area and the road and rail refueling. In a very instable area become wider as a consequence of the increase of the tasks assigned, it operated for eight months with high efficiency and capability, facing the needs and guaranteeing the check operations and the maintenance of the peace. Great example of valour that contributed to the success of the mission and the increase of the prestige of the Army and of Italy on the international context. It distinguished for hard work, courage and abnegation in rescue operations in favour of the populations hit by the earthquake in the regions of Calabria and Sicily on 28th December 1908.

In recognition for its generous contribution in the rescue operations organized by the Italian Red Cross in favour of the populations hit by the flooding in November 1994.
