The steps that have led to the constitution of the MLF are reported below. Other Countries are considering the possibility to participate in the Multination Land Force with their units.
14th November 1997 - the Ministers of Defence of Italy, Hungary and Slovenia signed in Budapest the Joint Declaration of Intents about the constitution of a Multinational Force.
18th April 1998 - the Countries signed an Agreement in Udine about the constitution of a Multinational Land Force.
7th April 2000 - the Political Agreement was ratified by the three national Parliaments.
12th July 2001 - the Deputy Chiefs of the three Countries signed the "Memorandum of Understanding".
5th September 2001 - the Slovenian and Hungarian personnel arrived at the "Julia" Alpine Brigade Command.
29th November 2001 - formal ceremony for the constitution (10th January 2002) of the MLF Command in Udine: Conference for the Commanders; starting of training activities and joint operational planning.
From 6th to 10th May 2002: in Osoppo (UD) there was the "Flying Arrow 02" exercise.
