On 10th January 1915 the first anti-aircrafts artillery Unit, led by Captain Augusto de Pignier, was constituted in Nettuno that was the location of the artillery shooting school; the anti-aircrafts specialty of the Italian Army was also created as a valuable resource for the high technology of its weapons and for the professionalism of its personnel, having an increasingly active role in the Armed Force.
Nowadays the anti-aircrafts defence permits modern and articulate managing capability in the complex operational scenarios characterize by international threat. Through this route we retrace the story and the development of this specialty.
