The Command

It deals with basic and advanced military education and supervises both basic and advanced military education for all Officers of the Italian Army.

In its headquarters in Turin, the Command presides over basic military education for both Regular Entry Officers and Special Entry Officers as well as Selected Reserve Officers, Direct Appointment Officers and On Term Officer Cadets. Additionally, the Command oversees advanced military education for Regular Entry Officers.

Each year, the Army School of Applied Military Studies caters for approximately 1,000 Officers and about 100 civilian attendees. It equally manages 118 civilian university professors and 30 military professors that cover over 100 subjects related to university curricula and 28 specialised military subjects.
Thus, nowadays the School stands out as an educational Centre of excellence in Italy and a prominent cultural beacon for the city of Turin.

The Command premises house the Post Conflict Operations Research Centre, whose mission is to develop a Research Hub for the Army. The Centre analyses and researches post-conflict operations and trains military and civilian personnel. The Centre equally advocates an "Italian approach" to post-conflict management in the field.

Furthermore, the Italian Army Military Academy based in the town of Modena alongside the Military High Schools of "Nunziatella" in Naples and "Teuliè" in Milan report to the Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies.
