Advanced Military Education and Training

​​ Advanced Military Education for Junior Officers, i.e. Lieutenants soon-to-be-promoted to Captains in charge of a Company, or Battery, or Squadron. Captains and Majors earmarked for deployment to national and multinational Brigade Headquarters also attend advanced courses. Moreover, they acquire the Branch/Corps-specific professional skills required to perform on their future assignments.

Advanced Military Education and Training includes:

• General Staff Course
  Captains and Majors of the Combat Arms and Logistics Corps attend the Course, where the technical and vocational preparation of Army Officers is standardised so that they can serve as staff in national and multinational headquarters as assigned by the Army. The Course also provides vocational skills required for future positions and assignments within the officers’ respective Branch/Corps.
• Leadership Course
  Regular Entry Lieutenants from the Combat Arms and the Logistic Corps soon-to-be-promoted to Captains attend the course, where they learn to master the instruments and procedures to lead a Company, Battery, Battle Group, or Squadron. The course also rovides preparation to understand higher command levels and the organisation and implementation of the decision-making and planning processes at a tactical level.
• Leadership Course for Battalion/Battle Group/Squadron Group Commanders
  The course focuses on explaining the general purpose of command; updating and consolidating the attendees’ knowledge and instruments to identify, manage, and solve the main issues related to Battalions, Groups, or Squadron Groups within the framework of the Italian Army regulations and policy guidelines.
