Its capability in interconnecting the Institutions
with the Private Industry permits to have more complex and sophisticated
activities carried out in the national defence sector.
The basic knowledge of the personnel about the
mechanics, the electronics, the optoelectronics, the chemistry, the physics and
the IT has led up to increase the skills on the new non-conventional weapons. 
The Northern Maintenance Centre of Piacenza is managed as a big modern industrial company with updating, revision and maintenance of apparatus, vehicles and weapons. The configuration management of a weapon make it always updated, analyzing malfunctions and finding meliorative solutions.
On 1st July 2011 the Centenary of its foundation was celebrated.
