​NH-90 tactical transport helicopter is a new-generation aircraft manufactured by the NHI Group (NATO HELICOPTER INDUSTRIES), according to the operational requirements expressed by the NATO members Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.

It can operate in modern operating scenarios (Afghan Operating Theatre) where the high technological level of the systems represents the main characteristic for satisfying the technical-operational requirements. The TTH version (Tactical Transport Helicopter) has been designed and realized to carry out missions on all types of land; it satisfies the specific requirements for the tactical transport helicopters, ensuring high operational availability.

Thanks to its characteristics, the NH-90 TTH can carry out the following types of mission:

• tactical transport on infantry units;
• logistic transport;
• special operations;
• transport of materials;
• recovery operations though winch;
• medical transport;
• transport of a light tactical vehicle.​
