The "Pinerolo" Mechanized Brigade is one of the Great Units of the Army for the "presence and surveillance" of the national territory.
Constituted in 1831, it participated in the three wars of Independence, in the Great War, in the campaign of Eastern Africa and in the Second World War in which it battled on the western front, in Albania and Greece where it was dissolved in 1943.
Led by a Brigadier General, it has got volunteer personnel.
The Brigade is composed of a Command Unit, two Infantry regiments, a Bersaglieri regiment, an Artillery regiment, an Engineer regiment and a Logistics regiments.
