Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP)

Common Module

The course is held at the Comando per la Formazione e Scuola di Applicazione dell’Esercito and it is managed by the Director of the Post Conflict Operations Study Centre.

It draws on a unique military expertise coming from experiences gained within the most important current military operations, in particular the ones in which the Italian Armed Forces are involved, and from skilled competences of many other areas of the civilian world.

The aim of the course is:

  • to supply the attendants with an extensive information about CSDP;

  • to strenghten the young Officers’ capability to work together with their colleagues of other countries.

The maximum expected number of participants is 30 people. Fluent English required. The course is held twice a year (May and December), it lasts one week (5 working days) and is open both to Officers/Cadets attending military Academies of EU countries, and students attending the Laurea degree course in Strategic Sciences (First and Second Cycle). The course is preceded by a 4 weeks e-learning period, conducted by tutors.

National university credits (2 CFU or 2 ECTS) are granted to students who successfully complete the course.

The course consists of one module only and a final, evaluative test is foreseen
