Decree of 24th July 1947
In a hard campaign it faced an enemy with great war qualities. Its soldiers carried out several patrols with audacity; in offensives against the enemy paratrooper troops it violently conquered a centre. In a dangerous action by a unit of courageous paratroopers that launched on the enemy, it caught more than 1,300 prisoners and war material. Included in the Italian Forces in Somalia, the 183rd "Nembo" Paratroopers Regiment participated with dedication and professionalism in the dangerous operations to rescue the Somali population; in the operations to search weapons or against bandits it confirmed its high level of efficiency. Involved in many fire conflicts it reacted with determination showing military valour, operational capability and motivation. In spite of the several losses in battle, it continued to carry out its tasks trying to give security and humanitarian help to the Somali population and honour to the Homeland. Decree of 9th November 1945
It participated with valour and violence in operations with allied troops against the German enemy. It defeated the enemy thanks to its artillery and mortars. It also advanced on the territory loosing components in a defended inhabited centre. Counterattacked by infantries and tanks, it limited their actions and managing to enter inside the country. Decree of 4th January 1978
On the occasion of the violent earthquake in Friuli, it promptly intervened in the devastated areas with courage and human solidarity, giving an important contribute in rescuing the wounded people and the survivors, limiting the damages of the natural disaster. Its activity arose appreciation by the Authorities and unconditioned recognition by the population hit by the earthquake, strengthening the prestige of the Army. (Friuli, 6th – 15th May 1976).

Employed in an area characterized by the presence of rebels, the Paratroopers Regiment faced several dangers showing valour, professionalism and high sense of duty. In particular, in joint operations with the Afghan Army and the international forces in support of the security, the Paratroopers of the Regiment opposed the intense and violent attacks of the enemy guaranteeing with courage the control on an area important for the maneuvre. Extraordinary example of military virtues, it contributed to increase the prestige of the Army. (Afghanistan, 3rd April – 20th October 2009).

Decree of 18th May 1964
With courage and sacrifice along with other regiments of the Army, the 183rd "Nembo" Infantry Regiment showed generous altruism and heroic abnegation in rescuing the populations hit by the disaster of Vajont. (October 1963).
War Corss to the Military Valour

It tenaciously intervened with the other regiment of the Division in support of a battalion. It participated in attacks and counterattacks, it developed the action with courage and trust in the motto of Italian paratroopers, disorienting the enemy. Its patrols drove the Italian Flag into the objective when the enemy surrendered. In that way it consecrated with success a glorious day for the Armies and the Italian Paratroopers.
