The Infantry has always represented the image of the armies, of the warriors and of the trenches. Nowadays an Infantry soldier is a technological warrior, projected to the future, supported by weapons that make him an important element.
From there the metamorphosis of the warriors of the "line Infantry" whose name derived from the typical deployment on the nineteenth-century battlefields.
The development of new types of battle have led up to the creation of special Infantry branches that could operate in light rapid nucleus, such as Bersaglieri, or that could move and fight in the mountains like the Alpines or that could use an emergency instrument to enter the battlefield as in the case of the Paratroopers. There were also the Specialty of Marines, specialized in defence operations and attacks on coastal areas, and the Specialty of Tank Drivers (from 1927 to 1999) that has become today a specialty of the Cavalry.
Nowadays the Infantry and its Specialties are ready for the classical missions. At their side, the "Queen of Battles" has demonstrated and demonstrate everyday its humanity in the missions for the peace.
