The UN Security Council, by the Resolution 1778 of 25th September 2007, authorized the deployment of a EU-guided military Contingent (EUFOR) in the Central African Republic and in the Chad Republic, in order to support the mission of the United Nations (MINURCAT). The EU Forces expected for the mission were composed of about 4.000 men.
In order to contribute to the activities in support of the UE Mission, the political national Authorities authorized the employment of a national Task Force (TF "Hippocrates") for the Operation "Nicole", composed by a medical disposition of the Army.
