The Slovenian Minister of Defence visits the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) of KFOR.

Colonel Ceruzzi welcomes the Minister at “Villaggio Italia”

The Slovenian Minister of Defence Andreja Katič has visited the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), with Italian leadership, on the base of the 3rd Mountain Artillery Regiment of the "Julia" Alpine Brigade.

The Commander of the multinational contingent Colonel Enzo Ceruzzi has welcomed the Minister at the "Villaggio Italia" military base; during the meeting the Colonel has illustrated the ongoing activities in the western sector of Kosovo related with the Resolution n.1244 of the UN Security Council.

In particular the Commander has highlighted the importance of the synergy between the four contingents constituting the MNBG-W (Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Moldavia) that aims to guarantee the security of the Dečani Monastery and to monitor the freedom of movement in the sector of competence.

At the end of the meeting the Slovenian Minister has expressed her appreciation for the laudable work of the KFOR multinational contingent, stressing on the success and importance of the mission.

At present, the Multinational Battle Group West is composed by 650 men and women and since last December it has carried out about 1,500 patrols, 6,500 observation posts and 3,000 motorized patrols for more than 170,000 km covered in total.
