Lieutenant General Salvatore Farina on official business to the Land Forces of Qatar.

More cooperation between Italian and Qatari Land Forces: more together

​The visit in Qatar of the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, Lieutenant General Salvatore Farina, during which he met the Qatari military chiefs, ended in recent days.

The Chief of Defence, Major General Ghanim Shaheen Al Ghanim, received General Farina, upon his arrival; then he visited the Land Forces Headquarters, where, accompanied by Major General Mohamed Alì Al Ghanim Al Madeed, Land Forces Commander, the main land vehicles and simulation systems, used in the Land Forces Training Center, were presented.

The Chief of Staff attended some parts of the exercise “Eastern Action”, ongoing at Al Ghalalil Training Area, and then visited the Military School “Ahmed Bin Mohammed”, during which Major General Fahad Mubarak Al Khayareen, the Commander, outlined the competence of the institute. Founded in 1996 by His Majesty the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, with the task of preparing the Cadets for the Army and Police, the college is a modern structure, with training areas in close proximity.

At the end of the meeting, the Chief of Staff expressed words of appreciation for the strong relationship of cooperation between the Qatari Land Forces and Italian Army, highlighting the feeling of friendship and collaboration in place and confirming the readiness to increase joint training activities in the future, in making the two armies more interoperable.
