Italian Army advisors from Multinational CIMIC Group conclude the advance training Lebanese Armed Forces.
MIBIL: Multinational CIMIC Group trains 66 “functional specialists”
The CIMIC courses, organized by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) in favor of Lebanese Armed and Security Forces personnel, ended in recent days, with a delivery ceremony of attestations of participation. The Ambassador of Italy in Lebanon, H.E. Massimo Marotti, The Mission Commander, Brigade General Salvatore Radizza and other local military authorities took part in the event.
The intense training session lasted 4 weeks at the CIMIC Directorate in Beirut, coordinated by instructors from Multinational CIMIC Group of Motta di Livenza (TV). The activity allowed to develop the three core functions of the CIMIC Operating Function, that is liaison, force and civil environment support.
During the course 66 "functional specialists" were trained, personnel able to manage the complexity of the dynamics and relations between different actors (military and non-military) in support to the missions. Representatives from International Organizations (Ios) and Non Governative Organizations (NGOs) as UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross & Red Crescent) and MARCH (a NGO based in Lebanon) gave their contribute for the program of the course.
MIBIL, in Lebanon since 2015, develops activity of military assistance (formation and training) in favor of the Local Armed and Security Forces, in accordance with the international context, with the aim to support Medio-Oriental institutions, affected by social and economic diseases, as a result of the persisting Syrian crisis.
