The Italian Army instructors enable 12 Afghan police trainers to teaching of medical and emergency aid manoeuvres in tactical environment.

“Teaching certificate course in favor of 12 Afghan Police Officers”

​The Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) – Train the Trainers (T3), a teaching qualification course in favor of 12 Afghan police officers, conducted by instructors from the Italian Contingent in Herat, based on “Sassari” Brigade, ended in recent days.

Highly selected among the staff, with previous medical competency, the new instructors, after the frequency of the course, lasted about three weeks, are now able to teach and certificate their colleagues to emergency aid manoeuvre in tactical and combat environment.

In order to reach this important achievement, the officers had to demonstrate that they well understood and were able to train other students on the procedures for treatment of wounds from burns, gunshots, fractures, airway obstruction, also through oral intubation and use of laryngeal mask, application of general principles of first aid and use of automatic defibrillator.

These kind of courses are very important for local security forces, because they serve the objective to make them independent regarding the formation, increasing the number of staff highly qualified and ready to face emergency situations in hostile ambient.

Italian instructors develop Train, Advise and Assist activities in favor of Afghan Army and Police according the “Resolute Support” mandate, with the final aim to increase their self-sustainability in the management of safety throughout the country.
