The Cavalry Army has got two specialties: the Line Cavalry and the Tank Drivers Cavalry.
The Line Cavalry is made up of regiments called Dragoons and Cavalrymen, that have the same decoration with a "lanyard" and the number of the regiment in the centre, Lancers and Light Cavalrymen.
In the Lancers' decoration there are two criss-crossed lances under a flaming bomb.
The Light Cavalrymen has got only the 19th "Guides" Light Cavalrymen Regiment located in Salerno. Their decoration is constituted by a horn with a flaming bomb.
Since 2000 the Tank Drivers Specialty has become part of the Cavalry, maintaining the traditional decoration constituted by a cannon and a machine gun criss-crossed under a flaming bomb lied on a tank.
The insignias, realized in matt silver metal and lied on a shiny metal circle, are fixed on the beret and the rigid cap.
